MALAPPURAM: About 40 students of A.M.U.P. School at Kumminiparamba, near Kondotty, in the district were hospitalised with complaints of itching on Saturday. Students of standards V, VI and VII complained of itching soon after the classes began following the morning assembly. A white powder had reportedly been found sprinkled across the classrooms on the desks, benches and the blackboards. Thirty-three boys and seven girls were rushed to the community health centre at Kondotty, where they were under observation for two hours. The police suspected the incident to be the handiwork of anti-socials. — Staff Reporter
