TRS(N) to highlight plight of farmers

Staff Reporter

Party to launch area specific protests

Membership drive of the party soon

Sangareddy: Medak unit of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (Nationalistic) decided to launch an agitational programme to highlight the plight of farmers under the Congress rule.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, party state general secretary and spokesperson Radhakishan Deshpandey said that the new party executive has decided to launch area specific protests to motivate party cadre.

Attributing the shortage of fertilizers to hoarding by merchants, he demanded that the government initiate action on black marketers. He cautioned the government that angry farmers and the common man, hit by hoarding and spiralling prices, could topple the UPA.

He said that the Congress Government in the State should stop dreaming of winning 230 seats in the ensuing Assembly elections and realise the extent of resentment of farmers against the government. Medak district president Panyala Prabhakar announced that the party executive has decided to launch membership drive from July.

TRS (N) State general secretary Govind Giri, women wing chief Sridevi and others were also present.
