Boiler operator killed in explosion

PUDUKOTTAI: A 34-year-old man died in a boiler blast at a private valve manufacturing unit at Viramalai on Friday night. L. Ravi of Manapparai in Tiruchi district was a boiler operator. Police sources said a group of workers was engaged in work when the boiler exploded due to excess heat. The injured Shanmugam and Karikalvalavan have been admitted to hospital in Tiruchi. The Viralimalai police have registered a case. — Staff Reporter
