SRINAGAR: The former Chief Minister and founder of the ruling ally People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, on Saturday expressed concern at the alleged diversion of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). “I am pained at the turn of events and would advise caution to all the stakeholders in the State’s ecology, environment and cultural identity as also the government and the SASB,” Mr. Sayeed said in a statement here. “As a minimum required action, the State government should forthwith cancel the order diverting land for use by the SASB,” he said. “We also need to have a re-look at the desirability of having a separate Board for AmarnathYatra. Board has generated more controversies than it has provided amenities for the Yatris.”
