PUDUKOTTAI: It was party time at JJ College of Arts and Science here on Friday. Not for the real, but for reel life students. The basketball court was converted into an outdoor party hall and a get-together scene featuring Prithviraj and Priya Mani was shot for the film ‘Ninaithale Inikkum.’ Is the movie a new version of the 1979 Kamal Haasan-Rajnikanth starrer flick? “No, absolutely not,” denies a member of the film crew and informs that it is a remake of a Malayalam super-hit ‘Classmates.’
The movie is a twin-hero subject played by Prithviraj and Shakti, while National Award winner Priya Mani is the female lead. Debutant Kumar wields the megaphone and the camera is handled by Balasubramanian of ‘Pithamagan’ fame.
“I played the same role in the Malayalam version as well, but now I am doing it under the perspective of a different filmmaker. I could feel a lot of changes,” says Prithviraj after taking a brief break between the shots.
The other hero, Shakti, appears only in the flashback scenes of the flick. Veteran filmmaker and actor K. Bhagyaraj plays an important role in the movie.
