P. Manickam remembered

In reverence: CPI activists paying homage to former secretary of the Tamil Nadu State council of the party and freedom fighter P.Manickam, in Puducherry on Sunday.

PUDUCHERRY: The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Sunday observed the 10th death anniversary of freedom fighter and former secretary of the Tamil Nadu council of the party P.Manickam.

Activists, including secretary of the Puducherry unit of the CPI N.Kalainathan and national council member of the party R.Viswanathan, paid floral tributes to Manickam’s portrait kept on a bedecked platform at the Vanoli ground in Mudaliarpet.

They paid glowing tributes to the late leader, recalling his rich contribution to the freedom struggle and the Communist movement in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in different capacities right from his student days, a release said.
