Former scribe dead

KANNUR: C.H. Bharathan, Manager (Co-ordination) of Western India Plywoods Ltd. at Valapattanam here, died on Sunday. He was 65. He died at St. Martin De Pores Hospital at Cherukunnu. Cremation would take place on Monday. Mr. Bharathan, who had worked as a scribe for the Press Trust of India and the Indian Express, was former secretary of the Press Club here. He had also served as founder member of the Kannur Jaycees and as district director and regional co-ordinator of the Rotary Club. He is survived by wife and a daughter. — Special Correspondent
