ALAPPUZHA: Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac has said that the teller system will be set up in all 205 treasuries in the State by the end of this month. Speaking after the State-level launch of the system at the Sub Treasury here on Saturday, he said the initiative would benefit mostly pensioners and savings bank account holders by reducing their transaction time from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of five minutes, he said. The teller system, Dr. Isaac said, was the second major initiative by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) to improve the functioning of treasuries after citizen’s charters were introduced in the department in January.
