dated June 23, 1958: Ban on nuclear tests

Mr. C. Rajagopalachari reiterated in Madras on June 21 his plea for the immediate cessation of nuclear weapon tests. He said this question should not be delayed further and the people should not be asked to wait till the settlement of the general issue of disarmament which, in his opinion, would not be possible in the near future. Rajaji was speaking at the Madras State People’s Convention to support the World Congress for Disarmament and International Co-operation scheduled to be held in Stockholm next month.
