Scooterist run over by Blueline

NEW DELHI: A scooterist was run over by a Blueline bus near Jhandewalan in Central Delhi on Sunday. The bus driver has been arrested. The accident took place around 12-30 p.m. when the Blueline bus plying between Karol Bagh and Seemapuri hit the scooter driven by Ashok Sehgal while reversing. He was rushed to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Desh Bandhu Gupta Road police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and arrested the bus driver, Yaqub Ali. The bus has also been impounded.

In a hit-and-run case, a speeding truck ran over an unidentified elderly man at Adarsh Nagar around 4 p.m. The police are trying to establish his identity.

In another accident, two cyclists were killed when a truck hit them near a crossing at Sultanpuri around 7-45 a.m. The deceased were identified as Bhola Ram (45) and Sheetala Prasad (32), both labourers. The police have arrested the truck driver, Shiv Puri (28), and booked him.
