Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has placed under suspension 11 officials including an assistant executive engineer and two block development officers at Marwah and Wardwan in Kishtwar district for remaining absent from duty. The suspension of the officials follows a surprise visit by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday, an official spokesman said. Showcause notices have been issued to assistant executive engineer Mohammad Aslam, BDOs Masood Ahmad Qazi and M.A. Mattoo, tehsildar Iqbal Singh and seven others including five junior engineers of the public works and public health engineering departments, he said. -- PTI
