Sonepat: At least seven members of a household suffered bullet injuries in an attack spurred allegedly by family rivals at Madina village of Gohana subdivision, 50 km from here, police said on Sunday. They were hospitalised at Rohtak late on Saturday night. Their conditions are stated to be serious. A case has been registered against the assailants who are currently absconding. An old enmity is said to be the cause of the incident. Subhash, the head of the victims’ family, told the police that his relations with Ram Swarup took a turn for the worse after the sarpanch election. When his son Sanjay went to purchase vegetables on Saturday evening, he was waylaid and attacked. This was followed by a coordinated attack on his house by armed men of Ram Swarup’s family.
