FOR MORE BUSINESS DEALS: Singapore Senior Minister for Foreign Affairs Balaji Sadasivan, who is leading a Singapore Business mission of Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, arriving at a meeting organised by World Malayali Council India Region in the city on Sunday.

KOCHI: Singapore companies are looking for business opportunities in Kerala, said Balaji Sadasivan, senior Minister for Foreign Affairs, Singapore.

Dr. Sadasivan was speaking at a meeting organised by the World Malayali Council (India Region), here on Sunday. He also led an 18-member delegation from the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) to Kerala.

Keralites form the second largest contingent of Indians in Singapore after people from Tamil Nadu.

The Singapore companies, which are looking for business opportunities in India, will certainly look at Kerala which has some of the best indicators of social growth, he said.

The Singapore delegation had earlier visited Gujarat.

The team included Chin Hock Seng, Consular-General, Consulate-General of Singapore in Mumbai, Ajith Singh, Consular-General, Consulate-General of Singapore in Chennai, Vijay Iyengar, chairman, SICCI, Pradeep K. Menon, executive director, SICCI, Reginald Wee, regional director, South Asia International Enterprise, Singapore and Ryan Ang, Centre director Designate (Chennai), International Enterprise, Singapore.

K.S. Nathan, Regional director of the Council, welcomed the gathering.
