Award for auto driver
City Police Commissioner K.V. Rajendranath Reddy presented Rs. 500 cash award to an auto-rickshaw driver for handing over bag containing gold jewellery to the police at Pandit Nehru Bus Station on Saturday. The jewellery weighing 20 tolas and estimated to cost Rs. 4 lakhs belongs to P.V. Narasimha Reddy, an employee of Board of Intermediate and a resident of Hyderabad. Mr. Reddy came to the city on Saturday to visit Kanakadurga temple. In his return journey, he forgot the bag in the vehicle in which he travelled to the bus station. Even as the police were checking auto-rickshaws parked outside the bus station, Gorla Babu Rao, an auto-rickshaw driver, handed over the bag to the police. Mr. Reddy gave Rs. 1,000 to the driver.
