Agni clinches two titles

CHAMPIONS: The winners of the Tristar State-ranking table tennis tournament in Chennai on Sunday.

CHENNAI: SDAT-AKG’s U.V. Agni clinched a double in the Tristar State-ranking table tennis tournament, which concluded at Hall of TT, Nehru Stadium, here on Sunday.

The 19-year-old MOP Vaishnav College Student won her first women’s title this season and clinched the youth girls’ title (introduced this season in the State).

G.S. Subramaniam, DGM, SBI, distributed the prizes.

The results: Men (final): Sivananda Seshadri (LTTA) bt R. Abhishek (IB) 11-8, 11-2, 11-7, 11-7; semifinals: Sivananda bt R. Rajesh (LIC) 11-5, 11-4, 5-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-8; Abhishek bt M. Subash (S. Rly) 6-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-9, 11-8.
