Encouraging rank holders

Chennai: State Bank of India has launched talents awards scheme for students under community services banking initiative, which was implemented at the Government High School, Sholinganallur. Under this scheme, the top three rank holders under science, commerce and arts groups in Plus-2 examinations held in 2008 were identified and awarded Rs.1,001 each by opening a savings account in their names at the branch.

The nine students were also issued certificate of excellence and a memento containing a silver coin with the name and emblem of the bank.

They were also given an in-principle sanction of education loan to pursue higher studies.
