MALAPPURAM: The DYFI has said that the IUML should make its stand clear on the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal. DYFI president P. Sreeramakrishnan said here on Monday that the league should make clear whether that party followed what its president, Panakkad Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal, said about the nuclear deal or what its general secretary, P.K. Kunhalikutty, said. Mr. Thangal, in an interview to a Malayalam TV channel, had said that the party would consider withdrawing Union Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed from the Cabinet, if the United Progressive Alliance government went ahead with the deal. Mr. Kunhalikutty had immediately denied Mr. Thangal’s statement, saying that what the latter said was not the party’s official line, Mr. Sreeramakrishnan said.
