The Union Home Minister, Pandit G.B. Pant, addressing the third meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Nainital on June 22, suggested that a careful survey should be made to ascertain which commodities could be developed for the export market. He said it was necessary to explore all avenues for increasing export to relieve the strain on the country’s foreign exchange resources. Referring to the food situation, he said that the problem of food confronts us still. The need of the hour is more production so that the general standard of living might be raised. The task could be accomplished successfully with faith, and purposeful and co-operative endeavour of all who are interested in people’s welfare.
