Sahaj makes final IM norm
NEW DELHI: Former World under-10 boys champion Sahaj Grover made his third and final International Master norm by finishing runner-up in a six-player double-round robin event held as part of the Balaton chess festival in Hungary.
Twelve year-old Sahaj, who scored six points from nine rounds to make the norm before losing the final round to Germany’s Andreas Mitscherlinb, needs to raise his present rating of 2300 to 2400 to become an International Master.
Sahaj’s earlier norms came in the 2007 Commonwealth championship in December and in the Reykjavik International Open in March this year.
