Protest

Students of a teacher training institute at Usilampatti staged a protest at the Collectorate on Monday. They alleged that the institute was started without obtaining due recognition from State Government. Students were admitted for 2006-07 and huge amounts were collected as fees without giving receipts. When questioned, students were threatened. The students requested the Collector to intervene in the issue and ensure that they were able to continue their education, a release said.
