Two persons robbed of cash Crime notes

BANGALORE: Two persons lost their cash in different incidents of theft reported in the city on Monday.

L.S. Hegde, a private company employee, lost Rs. 2.5 lakh while he was waiting for an autorickshaw near Dr. Rajkumar Road. The police said Mr. Hegde withdrew the cash from a State Bank of India branch and going to his office. Two motorcycle-borne men snatched the bag containing cash and sped away, the police said. The Magadi Road police have registered a case.

Juber, a small scale industrialist, lost his bag containing Rs. 1 lakh in cash while he was making some purchases in an ice cream parlour in Gangondanahalli in Chandra Layout police station limits. The police said miscreants had taken away the cash that was kept in Juber’s scooter.

Baby taken away

A three-month-old baby girl was reportedly taken away from her mother near a private nursing home in Hanumantanagar police station limits on Monday.

According to the complaint, Shashikala went to the hospital along with her husband Prakash, an autorickshaw driver, to show the infant to the doctor.

She saw a long queue in the hospital and therefore came back and sat in the autorickshaw. When Prakash went to make some purchases, some persons allegedly smothered her, rendered her unconscious and took away the baby.

Vehicles recovered+

The South Division police have arrested five men allegedly involved in stealing two-wheelers and recovered 62 vehicles from them.

The Basavangudi police arrested Venkatesh (30) of Mandya for allegedly stealing vehicles parked near temples and parking lots in Thyagarajanagar, Hanumantanagar, Kumaraswamy Layout, Hanumantanagar and Girinagar police station limits. The police recovered 32 scooters and motorcycles from him.

The Adugodi police have arrested Santosh (30) and Sanja (21) for allegedly stealing two-wheelers in Madiwala, Mico Layout and Wilson Garden police station limits.

The Jayanagar police have arrested Javed (24) and Syed Asim and recovered five two-wheelers.
