A 45-year-old man Hanumanthu was murdered allegedly by his friend Venkatesh at Rajendranagar on Sunday. The victim was a resident of Sainagar. Venkatesh picked up an argument with Hanumanthu over a trivial issue after consuming liquor with him and in a fit of rage Venkatesh smashed Hanumanthu’s head with a boulder and escaped from the scene. The latter died on the spot. Police launched a manhunt to nab the accused. Gold ornaments stolenThieves took away gold ornaments weighing 150 grams and Rs.14,600 from the house of a retired employee of APSRTC, Surya Prakash, at Amberpet on Monday. The house owner and his son Dinesh went out in the morning. A neighbour alerted the police on seeing the main door lock broken around 11 a.m. Child crushed to deathA three-year-old girl Ayesha Osmanni got crushed to death under the wheels of a Skoda car when its driver Rasheed reversed the vehicle failing to notice the girl behind the car at Syedaliguda in Asifnagar on Monday. Angry locals caught the driver and beat him up. The child was playing before her house when the accident occurred. Succumbs to injuriesShankar, 37, who was attacked by unidentified persons on June 16 near his house at Indiranagar of Lalapet, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Gandhi hospital on Sunday. The police altered sections of the law to murder following his death. Murder case registeredThe Kachiguda police on Monday altered the case of suspicious death of Syed Sharieff, 32, to murder following the findings by forensic doctors that he was beaten to death by sticks. The victim was found lying dead on Sunday at Shastrinagar near Kachiguda Kabela. As no visible injuries were found on the body, police initially registered a case of suspicious death.
