Boy knocked down by private bus, dies

TIRUCHI: A 12-year-old boy was fatally knocked down by a private bus at Kodiyalam near Jeeyapuram in the district on Monday.
The deceased _ P. Murugesan _ was a sixth standard student in a school at Tirupparaithurai and was crossing the road when the bus knocked him down killing him.
The general public resorted to picketing for nearly an hour following the incident demanding the arrest of the bus driver Karthikeyan.
The driver was later arrested.
The Jeeyapuram police have registered a case.
