VIRUDHUNAGAR: Collector V. Chandrasekaran launched wireless radio communication service among Block Development Officers and other officials of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) here on Tuesday.

The offices of the BDOs and their vehicles, Assistant Director (Panchayats) and engineers would have the radio sets.

The Collector would be able to interact with the Project Officer (DRDA) and other officials over wireless radio on the development works.

Stating that three repeater stations had been installed at Srivilliputtur, Aruppukottai and Virudhunagar, the Collector said that radio communication would be possible in remote areas even where mobile coverage was not available.
