Singareni to set up two power plants

KOTHAGUDEM: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has focused its attention on energy conservation as well as augmentation of its own power generation by setting up more number of captive units. The company will establish two power plants of a capacity of 20 MW each in Kothagudem at a cost of Rs. 90 crores, according to Y.S. Sarma, General Manager (E&M), Power Houses and Work Shops. He explained that the two captive plants were expected to be completed by 2010.

As part of the diversification, the company would establish a merchant power plant of 500 mw at Jaipur, near Srirampur in Adilabad district.
