TRS general secretary quits
|
V. Prakash falls out with KCR
|
HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti general secretary V. Prakash resigned from the primary membership of the party on Tuesday.
His decision to quit TRS assumes significance in the light of the proposal mooted by senior TDP leader T. Devender Goud who resigned from the party for creation of a new outfit dedicated to the cause of Telangana.
A founder-member and in-charge of the TRS’ legislature party office, Mr. Prakash distanced himself from party activities after the recent byelections in which the party faced severe reverses. Moreover, he had developed differences with the TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Mr. Prakash said in his letter that the movement for separate Telangana had reached a crucial juncture where there was need for uniting all the forces outside the TRS that were working for statehood for the region.
He was resigning from the primary membership of the TRS since it would not be appropriate to take up this responsibility while continuing in the party.
