CHANDIGARH: Haryana Janhit Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi alleged on Tuesday that the Congress Government had “utterly failed in maintaining law and order in the State”. In a statement, he said there was a question mark on the safety of the common man as the police were “killing innocent people in fake encounters”. Reacting to the murder of Bhiwani Municipal Council Chairman Nand Lal Chawla, Mr. Bishnoi said there was “not much difference” between the present government and the erstwhile Chautala regime as people used to get killed then in the same manner. He said the government had earned a bad name for the alleged gunning down of 30-year-old Mahinder Kumar by a police party and the suicide by a woman inside the Police headquarters.
