Rupee steady


MUMBAI: The rupee shied away from the key 43-level against the dollar on Tuesday and ended flat at 42.96/97 a dollar on alternate bouts of buying and selling.

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee moved between a high of 42.93 and a low of 42.97 a dollar before ending the day rock steady at overnight level of 42.96/97.

It opened better at 42.93/94. Dealers turned cautious on suspected intervention by the apex bank to keep the rupee below 43 level. — PTI
