KSEB for load-shedding
Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) on Wednesday urged the government to allow it to impose one hour’s load-shedding across the State to help it face the crisis caused by poor rainfall during this monsoon.
The KSEB made the recommendation after a meeting of its full board on Wednesday morning. The recommendation was to impose load-shedding in two 30-minute phases between 6.30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
In a press release, the KSEB said the reservoirs of its hydro-electric stations (except Moozhiyar power station which was shut down following a blast last month) now held only less than 10 per cent water storage.
Rainfall so far this season was unusually deficient in the catchments.
