Dream come true: Artist Krishna J. (right) explains his creations to an art lover. ‘Aham,’ a six-day exhibition of paintings by Krishna J. at the Sopanam Art Gallery which concluded recently, drew a good crowd of art lovers. His creations tread the path between reality and dreams. He interprets and combines both through captivating symbols. His canvas reflects incidents in daily life. Like when he was moved by the sight of a “handsome” bird electrocuted. The painting drew critical acclaim at the exhibition. He is nostalgic for the “disappearing” sacred groves, and has put it on canvas. The late Prof. M.N. Vijayan after witnessing Krishna’s painting went on record to say that his paintings belonged to a category of transfiguration of the romantic self at different dimensions of narration. A protégé of Jayapala Panicker, Krishna is a recipient of the Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi award and has also received the National Young Artists Scholarship. He believes that while viewing life from the side of reality, the ideas based on that take shape from dreams. Ignatius Pereira
