Learning with a bit of cyber help

Bangalore: Cisco Systems, Inc., an enterprise that specialises in the development of Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking technologies, unveiled the Cisco Learning Network in the city on Tuesday.

Designed for both the seasoned professional as well as individuals considering a career in Information Technology, the network is a collaborative Web 2.0 site that enables the creation of a global networking professional community that shares, discusses and exchanges ideas in an online environment.

The company also announced a major augmentation to its existing associate-level career certification with the introduction of three concentrations — Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) Security, CCNA Voice and CCNA Wireless at a press conference here. Designed to incorporate social networking features such as blogs, wikis and forums, the Cisco Learning Network enables individuals to discuss key issues and interact with thought leaders in network design, implementation and operations.

Growing demand

“The learning programme has been designed to address the growing demand for networking talent” said Milind Gujjar, Director, Learning@Cisco, at the conference. Authorised training is available from July this year from a global network of Cisco Learning Solutions and Partners and the Partner Education Connection.
