THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several leading scientists from R & D institutes and eminent academicians from IITs and IIST would attend a national seminar on “Communication, Power Electronics and Control Systems” (COMPCON-08) being organised by the Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology from Thursday. The seminar would touch up on specific topics in the fields of Avionics, Communication, Image Processing and Controls. The national seminar would commence with a workshop on advances in control systems to be organised on the college premises in Anad from Thursday. Leading educationists and a doyen of control system studies, Derek P. Atherton would conduct the workshop. InaugurationThe seminar would be formally inaugurated by Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre K. Radhakrishnan on June 27. The workshop and seminar is being organised for the faculty members of the Electronic Engineering Departments from different colleges as well as for scientists from various R & D institutions. Leading R & D institutes like Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU), Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), System Society of India and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers are supporting the event along with the Alumni Association, Centre for Continuing Education and PTA of the college.
