Thrissur: “Lucrative disciplines such as information technology are causing brain drain from the field of natural sciences,” said Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) K.R.Vishwambharan here on Wednesday. He was speaking after inaugurating a two-day workshop on ‘Frontiers in Natural Resource Management’ at the College of Forestry, Vellanikkara. Budding scientists should try to address the challenges of achieving food security, he said. P.K. Ashokan, associate dean, College of Forestry, L. Santhakumaran, former scientist of the Institute of Wood Science and Technology, Bangalore, and K.V. Peter, KAU former Vice-Chancellor, spoke. The workshop was organised jointly by the Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore, Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, and National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad.
