Three held in illegal mining case
Correspondent
VIZIANAGARAM: Three persons – Raja Krishna Rao of Hyderabad, Tripuraneni Vijay of Salur and Mutcherla Suryanarayana alias Chinna Rao of Garividi--- were arrested on Tuesday and 35 tons of processed manganese was seized from them, said Salur Sub-Inspector Narasimha Murty.
Suryanarayana took voluntary retirement after serving as APSP constable.
The information came to light when they disputed with each other over sharing money. The trio had been allegedly mining manganese ore illegally at Gederakonda and Sikhaparuvu in Salur mandal and Konda Mosuru in Pachipenta mandal and stacking it amid thick vegetation on the outskirts of Salur town.
