Talent search contest for scholarship
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: A State-level talent search competition for the academic year 2008-2009 will be held to identify students for the award of scholarship by Talent Search Foundation, a non-government organisation. The competition will be held on November 10.
Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, the foundation’s president, S.G. Sonnekhan, said that the competition will be held for students of lower primary schools, higher primary schools, high schools and pre-university colleges. A test will be held in science, mathematics and general knowledge subjects in Kannada, English and Urdu.
The competition will help identify talented students. It will also help improve skills and build confidence in students, he added.
“Top three students in each category will receive scholarships, and the foundation will ‘adopt’ the toppers through counselling and career guidance. The topper in the pre-university category will get free medical and engineering books,” V. Sudha, foundation director, said.
