Scribes take out rally, condemn arrests

VIZIANAGARAM: Journalists affiliated to the APUWJ, APWJF and Electronic Media Association sported black badges and staged protest near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Sri Kanyakaparameswari temple on Wednesday condemning the arrest of Andhra Jyothi Editor K. Srinivas and two reporters late on Tuesday night.

I.V.P. Raju (TDP), M. Suryanarayana (CPI-M), B. Suribabu (CPI), B. Babji (Lok Satta), A. Mohana Rao (Mala Mahanadu), D. Atchuta Rao, AP Press Academy member participated.

Later, a memorandum was submitted to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi urging him to save democracy.

They also submitted a memorandum to SP Vikram Singh Mann. Similar protests were reported from rural areas in the district.
