Corrections and Clarifications

The last paragraph in an AFP report “Switzerland police outfoxed by purse snatcher who does the vanishing act” (“Newscape” page, June 25, 2008) was “They deducted that the fox could not take the bag into its lair as it was too bulky. There was no arrest.” It should have been “deduced”.

A sentence in the tenth paragraph of an article “The two major economic concerns” (“Business Review”, June 23, 2008) was “During April out of a total oil import bill of $24 billion, oil imports accounted for a third.” It should have been “out of a total import bill”.

In G. Vishwanath’s article “Memories of an uplifting triumph” (“Sport”, June 25, 2008) the partnership figures were incorrect. Kapil Dev and Madan Lal added 62 runs for the eighth wicket while Kapil Dev and Syed Kirmani put on an unbroken partnership of 126 for the ninth wicket against Zimbabwe (which still stands as the world record).
