GJM firm on demand
Special Correspondent
KOLKATA: Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) leaders asserted here on Wednesday that there would be no climb-down on their demand for a separate State. They are scheduled to hold talks with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Friday.
GJM general secretary Raju Pradhan told journalists, “There will be no stepping down from our demand.”
He said, “The statehood movement is on and we shall determine our future strategies following discussions with the Chief Minister. We have come for a meeting with him to honour his invitation to the GJM.”
On resumption of the indefinite bandh after July 5, he said: “it depends on how the talks proceed here and in New Delhi.”
A GJM delegation is in New Delhi to discuss its demand with Central leaders.
