NEW DELHI: Gurkirat Singh’s unbeaten 63 helped Gush Club beat Indian Air Force (IAF) by nine wickets to book a berth in the quarterfinals of the DDCA Hot Weather cricket tournament at the GGSC ground here on Wednesday. Mumtaj Qadir scored an unbeaten 38 to guide IAF to 111 for nine in 35 overs. Shoaib Prashad and Ankit Rawat captured three wickets each. Gush Club won in 25.2 overs. Mohan Meakin pipped FCI by one wicket to reach the last-eight stage. In another match, G.G. Dutt Club went past Air India 2-1 following a ‘bowl out’. The scores: IAF 111 for nine in 35 overs lost to Gush Club 112 for one in 25.2 overs (Gurkirat Singh 63 not out). FCI 182 in 40 overs (Rajinder Bisht 53, Akash Malhotra 42) lost to Mohan Meakin 183 for nine in 39.5 overs (Charanjeet Singh 79 not out). — Sports Reporter.
