What’s up!: Students clamouring to get a copy of the matriculation results that were declared at City High School in Berhampur on Wednesday. — CUTTACK: Students as well as their parents had a torrid time on Wednesday when they failed to access the Matriculation results through Internet or SMS. Although, it was announced earlier that the results would be available in at least four sites at 11 a.m., it was postponed to 1 p.m. Some of the sites were closed midway, putting the anxious students to deep trouble. Some of the Internet café owners too had a terrible time browsing the Net to serve their customers. “It was difficult to handle the students who at times were getting unruly,” said a café owner of the city. The arrangements were so haphazard that even one of the websites posted the supplementary results of 2007 which was however taken off latter, he added. Although, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) had made arrangements to sell the result sheets in as many as 33 centres, the students in some rural pockets found it difficult to know their results till late in the afternoon. According to another report, BSE president Arun Kumar Samantray announced in Bhubaneswar that the State Board would soon conduct the Matriculation examinations in CBSE pattern. There would be only five papers and the total marks would of 500. This would facilitate the students to secure more marks and compete with other students to get admissions in better colleges for the Plus II, feel experts.
