High Court Bench: satyagraha completes 132 days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ongoing Satyagaraha by members of the Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association demanding the setting up of a High Court Bench in the capital city completed 132 days on Wednesday.

S.R. Jayakumar, former secretary of the Bar Federation, inaugurated the Satyagraha.

The protest was led by advocates S. Rajeev, advocate clerk V. Sudhakaran Nair and E.K. Babu, member, Federation of Residents’ Associations Trivandrum.

Meanwhile, a general body meeting of the Government Employees National Confederation has urged the Central government to restore the High Court Bench in the capital city without any further delay.

In a release issued here on Wednesday, C.P. Sugathan, general secretary of the confederation, said that the financial burden to the public and the government could be reduced by setting up the bench in the capital.
