‘Act of intimidation’

The Vizag Journalists’ Forum condemned the arrest of Andhra Jyothi Editor and two other journalists. In a statement, VJF president S. Shiva Sankar and secretary M. Yugandhar Reddy said an atmosphere of intimidating journalists was being created in the State. AP Federation of Trade Unions’ assistant secretary Ganesh Panda said the ruling party had misused the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act to gag the media.
