Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A three-month-old girl, who went missing from a nursing home soon after her birth, reached the arms of her mother on Tuesday. The city police have arrested the woman, who had allegedly abducted the child from the hospital.

Seema Kausher, a resident of Kadirenahalli, got admitted to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike’s maternity hospital on H. Siddiah Road on March 1.

She was delivered of a girl child on March 7. Later the child went missing and she filed a complaint with the Kalasipalyam police station. Unable to find the accused the police closed the case.

Police said Ms. Kausher, who recently been to Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, suspected Mujeeba, who was selling readymade garments in the maternity ward, of abducting her daughter.

The police questioned Mujeeba, who told about Dilsad (35), a resident of Subash Nagar near Electronics City, who was taking care of an orphan child for the past two months.

The police went to Dilshad’s house and found it locked.

On searching for a while the police tracked Dilshad in a slum in Jakkur Layout. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Harishekaran said Dilshad admitted of abducting the girl from the hospital.

He said three persons have seen Dilsad allegedly taking away the newborn girl.
