Train services disrupted as lorry hits underbridge

The tipper lorry that got stuck under the bridge near Basin Bridge junction on Tuesday night.

CHENNAI: Train services on the Chennai Central-Arakkonam section were disrupted for about one hour on Tuesday night.

According to Southern Railway officials, a tipper lorry dashed against a road underbridge near the Basin Bridge junction. As a precautionary measure, train services on the slow line on the section were suspended from 10.50 pm to 11.40 pm.

After ensuring that there was no damage to the track, train services resumed, officials added.
