TIRUCHI: Members of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) staged a demonstration at Srirangam here on Wednesday in support of their charter of demands. The demonstrators demanded house site pattas to the poor, grant of assistance to aged people even if they had wards, immediate distribution of new ration cards, assistance to the widows.
Poramboke
They also sought immediate disbursal of pattas to those poor families residing in poramboke lands for over 10 years in Srirangam area.
The demonstration, held in front of the Srirangam Taluk Office, was headed by DYFI Srirangam area secretary T. Subramani. AIDWA city president S. Renuka and other members participated.
