Minister reviews port trust performance

CHENNAI: Union Shipping Minister T.R. Baalu on Wednesday directed Chennai Port Trust officials to complete the second container terminal within a year. He also instructed them to get the feasibility study done for construction of an elevated corridor from Maduravoyal to the container freight station to facilitate movement of cargo.

Reviewing the performance of the Chennai Port Trust in New Delhi on Wednesday, Mr. Baalu asked the officials to get in touch with the State government for allotment of 100 acres for construction of a container freight station at Sriperumbudur.
