Child labour board revamped

NEW DELHI: The Central Advisory Board for Child Labour under the Ministry of Labour and Employment has been revamped, with the appointment of Syed Naseer Hussain, a Youth Congress leader of Karnataka, as its co-Vice-Chairman. Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Oscar Fernandes, heads the board. Secretary to the Ministry is its other vice-chairman. A doctorate in international politics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University here, Mr. Hussain is also a member of the Cine Workers Welfare Fund under the Labour and Employment Ministry.
He had earlier served as the All India Chief Election Authority and Secretary of All India Youth Congress. Hailing from Bellary district, he was actively involved in the student and youth movement of the country for the past two decades.
