Thiruvananthapuram: Minister for Education M.A. Baby has stressed the need to document educational activities in schools. Speaking after inaugurating a three-day workshop on “Planning and management” organised by the State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT) here on Thursday, he called for a new approach to the documentation of activities at the school level. “There should be an effort to prepare historical details of schools. All educational institutions should also be encouraged to exhibit the citizen’s charter,” he said. Improve efficiencyMr. Baby called for a concerted move to sustain the efforts at improving efficiency in the general education sector. He highlighted the need to strengthen the Parent-Teacher Associations in schools. Director of Public Instruction A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish and SIEMAT director Johnny K. John were present. Deputy Directors of the Education Department, DIET Principals, district project officers of Sarva Siksha Abhyan (SSA), assistant directors of VHSE and higher secondary regional directors are participating.
