Students take out rally against drug abuse

Creating awareness: Students taking out a rally to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Krishnagiri on Thursday. –

Krishnagiri: A rally by hundreds of students with placards about ill-effects of drug abuse marked the observance of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Ilicit Trafficking here on Thursday. The rally, flagged off by District Revenue Officer C. Nagarajan started from the Government Boys Higher Secondary School went through Bangalore Road and ended at the Central bus stand.

Placards were placed on road junctions and handbills and pamphlets were distributed. The participants carried placards and raised slogans during the rally.

A conference on the ill effects of using drugs was also held. The organisers conducted elocution, essay writing and drawing competitions. Chief Education Officer, M. Baskaran was among those present.
