‘Cancel drinking water project’
Bagalkot: Members of the Bagalkot Zilla Panchayat have demanded cancellation of the drinking water supply project from Narayanpur reservoir, near Hunagund taluk, to Jindal factory. At the general body meeting recently, the members said that supplying 2.6 tmc ft of water from the reservoir to the factory would have an adverse impact on the Murole irrigation project.
Chief Executive Officer of the zilla panchayat Govindraju assured the members that a meeting would be convened to elicit the opinion of elected representatives on the issue and a report would be sent to the Government.
